The “STEMPICOM” project at the BUS2BUS Trade Show and Congress

On the 21st March 2019, we presented our research project STEMPICOM at the BUS2BUS Trade Show and Congress in Berlin. We have been part of a common exhibition stand with the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), which funds our project within the context of their research initiative mFUND. Furthermore, there was an extremely informative exchange with spokespeople from other mFUND projects and the BMVI.

STEMPICOM stands for “SPATIO-TEMPORAL INTELLIGENCE FOR COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES”. The major aim of the project is to create interoperable spatial data models and to enable query methods for future microservices in rural areas. Therefore, it will be crucial to develop a web-based infrastructure for spatial information, which providers of individual self-supporting apps can use as an API. This software as a service (SaaS) functions as a tool to improve the process sequences of community-based delivery services. This creates room for parcel deliveries to be designed in a more efficient manner.
