New project: myField
myField is a geodata-based web portal which allows citizens to collaboratively research, evaluate, and implement spatially significant environmental protection measures. In this context, researching means that the participants enquire about various implementation potentials (information function). In terms of evaluating, the aim is to test the relevance and effects of different scenarios of appropriate environmental protection measures at a specific location, e.g. a specific neighbourhood (simulation function). Regarding the aspect of implementation, we allude to the direct communication channel that established a link to the municipality, to other interested citizens, to manufacturers, and consultative engineering offices. This direct communication channel is provided by the portal. Based on the results of the conducted evaluations, it will be possible to develop effective and specific measures in collaboration with all involved parties.
The project aims at developing a technical spatial data infrastructure, which encompasses all of the aforementioned functions and interlinks all the required stakeholders within the context of just a single communication portal. By doing so, myField meets the German government’s call for a digitalised linkage between civic, municipal, and entrepreneurial engagement within urban development processes.
